A perennial favorite amongst classic California chardonnay lovers, the 2007 PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay immerses your senses with a tropical frenzy of pineapple, pear and banana. Made from grapes located in the heart of the Napa Valley, the grapes are from two special sites; one site is located just outside of the small town of St. Helena in Rutherford and the second is located in the renowned chardonnay region of Carneros.

Our winemaker Tony Biagi uses a unique winemaking style with the PlumpJack Chardonnay utilizing only 33% new French Oak, no malolactic fermentation and aging the wine sur lees. In the end we are left with a rich, mouth coating chardonnay balancing creamy fruit and natural acidity, truly capturing the essence of the Chardonnay grape.

Primary aromas of baked pear, apple and banana with secondary aromas of spearmint, lemon zest and white peaches are followed on the palate with flavors of Fuji apple, pear, lemondrop and a touch of vanilla custard. In its youth this wine posses striking acidity and after a year of bottle age you can expect this wine to develop rich mouth coating textures of classic full bodied chardonnays.

Philip Kendall's experience in hospitality has been particularly centered on Napa Valley as he most recently served as General Manger of Calistoga Ranch and previously Director of Operations of Meadowood and The Inn at Southbridge.

Prior to his luxury hospitality roles in Napa Valley, Philip was Vice-President of Food and Beverage for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide and began his career with Hyatt Hotels in 1985.
